How does the eye change over time?

There are two common changes that the human eye undergoes with time. (1) The lens of the eye loses flexibility, restricting an older person's ability to focus on close-up opjects. (2) The eye changes shape, changing the distance at which clear vision occurs. In other words, a person's degree of near-sightedness and far-sightedness usually change with age. There are other pathogenic changes that can occur such as diseases, damage or physical deterioration.
