the stamen[male] part of the plant creates a solution called pollen. a insect will come along and when it gets close some of the pollen rubs on the insect. then while it is looking around the flower some of the pollen rubs off on the pistil [female part of the plant]. pollen then go down into the ovary where the eggs are and then the eggs and the pollen combine to form seeds

Fertilisation is the process in which a male cell fuses with a female cell.
Process of fertilisation:

  • During fertilisation, the pollen grains are transferred to the stigma
  • Each pollen grain will produce pollen tube. The male cells are found inside the tip of the tube.
  • The pollen tube enters the ovule which contains an egg cell.

Fertilisation occurs when the female egg cell and the male cell fuse.
Formation of fruits and seeds:

  • After fertilisation, the petals, style and stigma usually wither and drop off.
  • The ovary gradually deveEops into a fruit. The ovules inside the ovary develop into seeds.
