As far as I know, the only coconut palms in Israel were several planted in an experimental plot in Kibbutz Ketura, they lived about 10 years and only one immature fruit was produced...after dry spells and a couple of rare freezes they have all but gone...I suspect that in some very sheltered valleys of Ein Gedi you may be able to grow one with winter protection.
