Not at all alike.

Evolution is an observed and observable fact. The theory that explains much about evolution is well supported by the evidence and has been repeatedly tested. It also has made many testable predictions.

Flood myth? Whose flood myth? These myths are legion and many cultures have one. Not one of the myths has ever been supported by the evidence though.

A flood kills most of the ants that live near a river. After the flood one population of ants grows rapidly but its allele frequencies are different from the frequencies before the flood. What does th?

The flood likely caused a genetic bottleneck, reducing the genetic diversity of the ant population. The rapid growth after the flood may have allowed new mutations to become more prominent, leading to changes in allele frequencies. This could result in a genetic drift or selection event.

What is the connection between the theory of evolution and creationism?

Creationism is the religious belief that the Universe and life originated from specific acts of divine creation. The Theory of Evolution is at the heart of biology and other natural sciences. As the history of evolutionary thought developed from the eighteenth century onwards, various views aimed at reconciling the Abrahamic religions and Genesis with biology and other sciences developed in Western culture. This includes 'Old-Earth Creationism', which is inconsistent with most interpretations of the Book of Genesis, but superficially capable of harmonisation with science.Wikipedia tells us that when scientific research produces empirical evidence and theoretical conclusions which contradict a creationist interpretation of scripture, young Earth creationists often reject the conclusions of the research or its underlying scientific theories or its methodology. Pseudoscientific branches of creationism include creation science, flood geology and intelligent design, as well as subsets of pseudoarchaeology, pseudohistory, and even pseudolinguistics. Creationists commonly reject the scientific consensus on evolution and common descent, the geological history of the Earth, the formation of the Solar System and the origin of the Universe

A flood kills most of a population of ants that lives near a river. After the flood the ant population increases but its allele frequencies are different. What does this situation represent?

bottleneck (apex) [correct]

What are the main differences between evolution and creation?

Creationists: believe that God created the universe as described in the Bible's book of Genesis. The world was created in six ordinary days. Animals and plants were created pretty much in the form we find them today. Most fossils formed rapidly as a result of a worldwide flood.Evolutionists: believe that the universe formed from a "big bang" billions of years ago. Life formed from non-life. From the first simple life-form(s), every other living thing on earth has evolved. Evolutionists do not believe there was a worldwide flood; they believe that fossils formed slowly from local events

What is the difference between Evolution and Intelligent Design?

Although ID has undoubtedly become a somewhat political phenomenon, it did not begin this way. Philip Johnson, another promoter of ID conceived of it, as do others such as Michael Behe as a concept which is critical in a negative sense of existing evolutionary paradigms. The evidence used by Behe relates to the possibility of complex biological systems, which he describes as irreducibly complex, arising by the chance mechanisms of evolution. Since all the parts of these systems are required to be in place for the sytem to operate, the process of natural selection would select against the devlopment of these complex systems while they were being 'built' by the slow and gradual process of evolution. In this sense, ID was put forward largely as a critique of evolution and points to a number of different examples which are inexplainable under current evolutionary thought. Currently there is no scientific explanation as to how the genetic information required to 'build' these structures could arise spontaneously through evolutiuonary processes. Further to this, the science of genetics, in line with the laws of thermodynamics point to mutations as unable to add new genetic information, although recombination and duplication certainly occur, as well as certain genes being 'switched off' or 'on' with resultant effects in living things. ID theorists, although themselves criticizing evolution, or the current understanding of it, in turn come in for criticism from both evolutionists and creationists alike. The former, because they are criticizing the theory of evolution, the latter for the ID theorists reticence to name the designer.

How is Darwin's theory and evolution fit in with the flood myth?

I answered a question like this earlier. It does not. What flood myth? There are many of them and none of them have anything to do with the theory of evolution by natural selection.

What was the Neo Darwinism theory of evolution based on?

The theory of evolution is that species aren't fixed; new species can evolve from existing species. The earliest recorded theory of evolution dates back to the ancient Greeks - Anaximander in 650BC proposed that life originated in the sea and later moved to the land. The theory was postulated again in the 18th century; fossils had been discovered of extinct animals - including of "primitive" forms of modern animals. At the time, multiple floods were proposed to explain fossils of extinct animals - although it was never explained where all the water went in between floods! The discovery of fossils of extinct animals with fossils of existing animals was very hard to explain with flood theory - how could some animals survive a flood and others not? To explain evolution several theories have been proposed; Larmarck suggested that offspring inherited characteristics from parents that they had acquired during life - for example, giraffes stretching to reach high leaves on trees grew longer necks - the longer necks were passed on to their offspring. The problem with Larmarckian evolution is that there wasn't a mechanism to explain how acquired characterstics could be passed on; if you have a scar on body from an injury, your children aren't born with the same scar. It was the careful research of Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace that led to the natural selection theory - which provides a mechanism for evolution. Darwin, in particular, provided a large amount of evidence to support the theory.

What do evolutionists have?

Any evolutionary theorist believes in evolution, by definition. A person who does not believe in evolution may be a creation theorist, or a theologian, but would not be an evolutionary theorist.

The theory that earth's rocks formed in a global flood followed by uplifting of some rock over a short period is called?

The theory that Earth's rocks formed in a global flood followed by the uplifting of some rock over a short period is called "Catastrophism." This theory suggests that geological features were primarily formed by sudden, short-lived, and violent events rather than gradual processes.

What are the Factors of succes of organisation?

As per Darwins Theory of evolution it is Survival of the fittest. That means being best matched to the current situation fair or unfair. So you could be successful for years but fail one day because your stock is destroyed in a flood and you are not insured. So you must predict the future well and be better than your competitors at delivering your product. Reliability, Availablity and Serviceability was IBMs old motto. It may still be that. Find out what is needed and wanted and can be produced at a profit. Watch out for high overhead costs as if business drops off they could soon wipe out your profits and capital. You might for instance employ contractors rather than permanent employees so that if business drops off you can end there contract easily.

Is the slave theory not true regarding the pyramids?

Probably not. The bulk of the labour force were peasants conscripted when the Nile was in flood and no work possible in the fields.

How did the Olive tree survive the flood?

The Bible tells us how animals and Noah's family survived the flood. A scientist friend of mine told me that his theory is that since seeds can travel with the ocean waves and grow in the first land they land on, that is for him the way trees survived the flood. In addition, large mats of vegetation from before the Flood may have floated upon the rising water and some of that greenery could have survived.
