A cell wall and a stone wall are different because a cell membrane is Permeable meaning that it selects what enters and exits the cell, good or bad. It is also Impermeable meaning that it picks and chooses what goes into the cell. Sometimes if what is entering the cell is good, it wont let it in just because it doesn't want to. It is also, selective. This means it chooses what goes in weather it is good or bad. As for a stone wall it is only permeable and impermeable.

Cell Wall= Just on plant cells, protects the cell, thick.
