There are many reasons Animals reproduce. There are also many ways Animals reproduce.

Your question is going to open you up for being taken for a small child in need a Sex Ed. The school systems appear to pick the same kids over and over again to take classes while others go without,.. then that is how alot of Teenage Pregnancy comes to be.

One type of Reproduction is refered to as an animal being A Sexual. In these cases an Animal gives birth to usually an Identical Clone, but mutations still happen ( this means they are slightly different, not that they have Teleknesis or anything like that). These Animals tend to either lay eggs or they are too small for the human eye and literally rip apart into two identicle bodies. They CAN also give Birth but this is rare.

There is something called Live Birth that some Fish are capable of. This means their eggs are fertalized in their body but not dependent or attached to their body and after they hatch the mother OR FATHER will release them when they are safe. Anotherwards they are already alive and out of their egg before they are released to the world. Seahorses are an example of sea life that is both Live Birth and the Father gives Birth.

There is the method where the female deposits or releases eggs and then the male fertalizes them with their sperm ( the other half of their genetic material, the sperm will enter the egg and then the combined genetic instructions will tell the egg to develope into a life form). This is what Fish do and some other Sea Life,.. Frogs also do this. The normal thing to happen with Fish is they can only reproduce once, as a result they leave their "Genetic Materials" and try to go away from them to avoid gaining attention of hungry things, then they die else where because they can only reproduce once and it kills them.

Mammals reproduce by the male releaseing "genetic material" into the female. Then internally the fertalized egg reaches a stage where it attaches to the female. This is actually a simbyot relationship, the fetus leeches off of the female in the same manner as a parasite. At some point the females body becomes aware of it and tried to reject it for her health, releaseing chemicals and activateing atrophied muscles. The Fetus is "born" and upon entering the world begins to be called a baby or the name of the children of that animal,.. EX: Kittens for Cats, Puppies for Dogs,.. etc.

Mammals are very complex and usually have a system of attracting and selecting mates,.. as well as displaying emotionally and/or physically their body is at the best point to reproduce. For Primates the females can become moody and swell from hormones and chemicals in the bodies. There is also Pheromones released that are unseen by the human eye. Pheromones dictate Hormonal, Chemical, and Mental responce. Sadly most humans do not accept that they fit into the Mammal range of things,.. there are often Rapes that result in Pregnancies,.. what happens is the Male is strengthened Hormonally in responce to the female and instead of takeing the time to step away he listens to his hormones instead of the woman or his brain,.. the woman is likely weakened and has lessened movements but is unaware of this. Since this is a peak point for reproduction, not only will the woman be hurt by the man but have to endure a pregnancy and emotional scars every time they look at their child. Smarter animals such as us should learn these things and know to put up guards and control our selves,.. as even Lions and Wolves are smarter about these things.

Anyways,.. moving on, sorry for rambleing.

There are Egg Laying creatures. These fertalize internally with a soft weak egg, the females body with builds a shell around the egg that's strength and properties vary depending on the species and breed. The female later lays the egg. Both females that lay unfertalized Eggs and Fertalized eggs are capable of releaseing unfertalized Eggs. The ones that "Lay Eggs" are meant to produce eggs on a cycle, instead of once in their life. They either are Lizards and Reptilians or are the decents of like Birds and Refined Hair creatures like Platipus and Echidna.

The last thing I can think of bringing up is Marsupials (sorry, I can't spell). These are mistaken for Mammals and well known for existing in wide variety in Austialia. They however are found on other Conteniants like Africa and the Americas. These reproduce like Egg Laying animals and mammals where the "Genetic Material" of the male is deposited into the female. However, when their offspring are still fetus they are born but move into a pouch on their mother. This is usually a flap over where in relation you would say your belly is,.. the mother can contract and expand the opening to open and close it and let their offspring in and out. Inside this poach the many young must compete for her few nipples,.. those that find a Nipple will clentch on to it and not let go for days, weeks, or months,.. those that do not will die and eventurally be removed from the pouch. When the babies are developed to an acceptable point, they will be allowed to live the pouch from time to time. As they become too old, their mother will close her pouch off and only let them in when they are in danger. Then one day they just won't and will try to keep their distance to get the message across.

For the most part Animals are just guided by Instinct & Hormones (refer back to Rape with humans). However, some lack total control, such as fish, while others try to hold total control, such as social and intelligent animals. The mindless animals tend to be Prey and Herd. The Social and Intelligent animals tend to be Predators and Pack animals.

High up, high control group examples are Hyenas, which is a Materarc system. In their group a Female is Leader,.. she says who is allowed to mate and when. She plans to be the only one to give birth, but if a sister or friend gets on her good side she will give them permission and then likely either adopt/steal their childern or allow this female to adopt her rank and offspring in the event she is disabled or dieing.

Some female Animals are capable of storeing Sperm, given by the male, in their body until they are ready to get pregnant. Also some females can control the speed their fetus is developeing at, if something happens and they know they need more time.. they will stop developement until they feel assured it is safe to containue... this can delay a birth up to 4 years.

For some Animals more offspring means more Hunters available to feed the group. For some it means more friends. For some it's someone there to protect them. For some females, it is the only time they will have to safely spend with another of their species,.. once they are a certain age.. they must part ways as there may even be a risk their child will be very violent at that point and attempt to kill them.

Mostly there is no reasoning to the Animal it's self. Greatly the world needs Animals to containue being born to replace those that die. The more use an animal is and the smaller it is and the shorter it's life span,.. the more often it seems to give birth. Consider Mice. They can reproduce under 2 months after they are born,... they can give birth to a litter a month,.. their litters can be large.. like 15 mice large,.. their children will have children of their own in under 3 months. Mice are eatten by many things and have a low life expectancy. Reproduction is the only way to keep a constant supply of food... I mean Mice XD

like most animals, bears produce offspring by sexual reproduction. However, some animals, such as hydra, can reproduce asexually.
