Around 3 million red blood cells are made every second, so around 259,200 million red blood cells are made each day.

- I can't improve upon a complete answer, but here are some related facts.

- 2.4 million every second, from wikipedia.

60 X 60 X 24 = second per day X 2.4 million = your answer.

According to Harrison's a rbc LASTS about 120 days so the body turns over about .8-1% of its RBC's every day. There are about 5 million RBC/microliter of blood and 5-6 liters of blood in the human adult body = about 25 trillion (10 to the 12) RBC in adult human body. 1% of this number would be 250 billion cells (please check my math) turn over every day which seems like a lot!!
