First diploid Cell: 46 chromosomes (23 of the father and 23 of the mother). This cell replicates its DNA and does. MEIOSIS I and then it gives as a result: 2 haploid daughter cells, since each one with 23 chromosomes (either from the father, or from the mother) doubles, that is to say with a copy of each one

How many cells re formed after meiosis?

Meiosis results in four haploid cells. In the female mammals, only one of the three cells will become an ovum. In males all four haploid cells will become sperm cells.

How many cells do you end up with after mitosis and meiosis?

After mitosis you have two cells and after meiosis you have 4 cells.

In telophase ii cytokinesis results in two haploid cells two diploid cells four haploid cells four diploid cells?

4. In meiosis, the initial cell splits into 2, and then those 2 each split into 2. 2x2=4

How many diploid cells happen in meiosis?

2 daughter cells

2 and 4

Why are chromosomes in haploid cells that are produced in meiosis 1 you look different in meiosis 2?

because there is half as many cells

How many daughter cell are produced when chromosomes undergo meiosis?

A total of four daughter cells are created during meiosis. There are two phases of meiosis, meiosis 1 and meiosis 2. During meiosis 1 two daughter cells are created while during meiosis 2 four daughter cells are created.

How many cells result from meiosis and mitosis?

Meiosis creates four daughter cells, and mitosis results in two.

What is meiosis about?

Meiosis is Sexual Reproduction, unlike Mitosis, that is responsible for cell growth and other functions. Meiosis has the same phases as Mitosis except that it undergoes those phase twice (Meiosis l and ll). This results in 4 daughter cells, unlike Mitosis which results in only 2 daughter cells. Also, in Mitosis the daughter cells are identical to the original cell, while in Meiosis, it increases genetic variation, because it has characteristics of both parent cells.

How many haploid cells are produced by meiosis?

2, They are also daughter cells

Does mitosis results in four haploid gametes?

No - mitosis results in two genetically identical diploid cells.Meiosis creates four haploid cells.
