It depends on the fundamental frequency. If for example you wanted to find how many harmonics a 20 Hz sound has then its all the integer multiples of that frequency which are still within hearing range, i.e 20000 Hz.

For 20 Hz this is 20000/20 = 1000 harmonics.

The question is weird.

Harmonics are multiples of a frequency. Obviously, if you specify a limited band,

then the greatest number of multiples can fit into it if you start with the lowest

number.

So the greatest number of possible harmonics in the band of 20 Hz - 20 KHz are

the multiples of 20 Hz.

20,000/20 = 1,000

For a fundamental at 20 Hz, 999 of its harmonics fit into that band.
