There are actually 8 diaphragms in the human body:

Tentorum cerebelli

Pituitary diaphragm (covering the pituitary at the level of the stalk)

Occipital bone on the Atlas

Thoracic inlet

Thoracoabdominal diaphragm

Pelvic diaphragm

Popliteal fossa

and the arch of the foot

PELVIC DIAPHRAGM

muscular part of the pelvic floor, consists of the muscles levator ani and coccygeus. separates pelvic cavity from perineum. levator ani reinforces the external anal sphincter, and in women functions as a vaginal sphincter. it is these muscles we are strengthening when doing pelvic floor exercises. the pelvic diaphragm supports the pelvic viscera (ie. the bladder), as well as providing an attachment for the perineum (external genitals). these muscles originate across the wall of the pelvis (from posterior aspect of pubic bone to ischial spine) and insert either into one another at the midline, or into the sacrum/coccyx/anococcygeal ligament.

THORACIC DIAPHRAGM

thin muscular structure that separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal cavity (in other words separates lungs, heart etc. from stomach, intestines etc.) this muscle is just known as the diaphragm. it attaches to the sternum at the front (specifically xiphisternum), some of the ribs, and vertebrae of the lumbar spine. it is shaped like a dome, and has a central tendon at its top/middle into which it inserts from all angles. the role of this muscle is in breathing, as when it contracts it allows the lungs to expand and fill with air, and as it relaxes again the air is pushed out of the lungs. the aorta, inferior vena cava and the oesophagus are the 3 major structures which pierce the diaphragm in order to pass between abdominal and thoracic cavities.
