yup. one way to classify types of kidney failure is the physical area the problem starts. ill name them and put examples...
Pre-renal (renal means kidney, Pre means before):
- not enough blood flow to kidneys causing cells to die. this can happen by physical obstruction of the vessels or even if the person does not have enough blood left in thier body.
intra-renal (intra means within):
-rhabdomyolysis for example is when by products of muscle get into the functional parts of your kidneys, the bowmans capsule. these by products block up the filtering part of your kidneys, and nothing can pass through, causing build up of toxins in the body.
Post-renal (post means after):
- kidney stones, prostatic hyperplasia (swollen prostate), and any physical obstructions can prevent urine from passing and build up pressure in the kidneys. the kidneys depend on a very delicate balance of physical pressure and osmotic pressure to selectively filter out toxins. a physical blockage can increase the pressure and prevent the kidneys from filtering out toxins. leading to a build up in the body. the increased pressure can also damage the kidney, so after the blockage is cleared, some damage can be done.
To be clear, it would have to be one hell of a kidney stone! most pass very painfully, but they do pass.

Kidney failure is fatal because the kidneys play a crucial role in filtering waste products and excess fluids from the blood. When the kidneys fail, toxins can accumulate in the body leading to a range of complications such as electrolyte imbalances, fluid overload, and cardiovascular issues, ultimately resulting in organ failure and death if not treated promptly.
Yes, the whites of your eyes and your skin will have a yellowish color to them if your kidneys fail. This is known as jaundice, and the yellow color is from bilirubin, which is a breakdown product of heme (a principle part of red blood cells). Bilirubin is formed when the liver breaks down the heme. Heme is then normally removed by the kidneys and is passed by the urine, but if the kidneys are not functioning, the heme, along with other waste products, will make their way back into the bloodstream.
The adrenal glands are located on top of the kidneys.
Human body has two kidneys
Kidneys
The kidneys do not effect your lungs even if they don't work. However, you'll die shortly after your kidneys fail.
Kidneys tend to fail because of damage to the nephrons, which causes them to filter less effectivley or even cease to filter at all. Nephrons can fail quickly due to poisoning or injury Kidneys tend to fail because of damage to the nephrons, which causes them to filter less effectivley or even cease to filter at all. Your liver and kidneys may fail.
yes if the kidneys fail.
Because dialysis is expensive and if the kidneys still work why would the insurance want to pay for it. Its all political and about $$
if your kidneys fail completely, then you can go on a transplant list and get a kidney transplant if your kidneys are failing the doctors will put you on dialysis ... trying to keep your blood clean... eventually your kidneys will fail and then you will get a transplant
Renal failure,
The 2 kidneys filter the blood & create urine, which is passed on to the Bladder, so the body can get rid of waste & toxins. When they fail, the blood doesn't get cleaned & the system becomes toxic & your other organs fail and you die.
You would probably be placed on dialysis to help with blood filtration.

You can only die if both are not working BUT if one of the kidneys still work then you wont die.
Did you mean organs? All of them. If you lose your kidneys, you die.
