While technically the epidermis is riddled with spaces such as the openings through which hairs pass, and sweat pores, as well as incidental cracks and cuts (usually), its hydrophobic cell membrane and waxy cuticle causes water to bead on its surface. You skin will absorb water and other substances through what's called across-membrane transport: basically microscopic gates that allow specific chemicals through based on the state of the cell's interior.
They're better than permeable - they're SEMIpermeable! :D
This extends to ALL cells.
To start off, if a cell is not permeable, life would not exist. There would be no way to get water or oxygen or nutrients into the cell, and no way of getting waste out. So it MUST be permeable.
It's semipermeable meaning is lets some things through and some things not. because the center of the MEMBRANE is nonpolar, there are special proteins which allow polar substances to get through. The membrane of the cell also is able to regulate the amount of things going through - to a certain extent (we don't stand a chance against diffusion until it decides its done!)
definitely permeable.

the epidermis is avascular
it is not selective permeable. - Cell membranes are selective permeable. Cell walls are fully permeable - which means that it allows all substances/molecules to pass in and out of the cell. It is located outside of the membrane.
epidermis= Keratinized Lining of the esophagus= nonkeratinized
only solids can be permeable
Answer: the epidermis of a leaf includes: upper epidermis and lower epidermis but if you are referring to the epidermis of an onion: it is only one layer

Plasma membranes are selectively permeable.
the epidermis is thicker.
Your epidermis is your skin, so yes, it is very easy to touch your epidermis, even with another part of your epidermis.
Epidermis .. the layer of the epidermis you can see is called the stratum corneum.
The epidermis, or the outermost layer, contains no blood vessels.
The epidermis is the skin.
The epidermis is also known as skin.
yes they do an epidermis is the skin.
upper epidermis is sadsadsa
the epidermis is avascular
