They move via passive transport. They move by diffusion. It's only active transport if A) the cell is too big or not fatty enough to move through the membrane and needs help or B) is making the molecules move unnaturally (low to high). Osmosis is also passive transport, but only is used when referring to the movement of water.

Oxygen is typically transported into cells passively through diffusion. This process does not require the use of energy.

Active transport. To go "upstream" requires ATP, a form of energy, to pump against the ion gradient.

well oxygen isn't a transport system it is something that can be diffused across the membranes of cells.

You could call it passive transport, but the correct term is diffusion. Osmosis where water is involved.

What id the difference between active and passive transport?

Active transport requires energy to move molecules against their concentration gradient while passive transport does not require energy and moves molecules from high to low concentration. Active transport is selective and can transport specific molecules, while passive transport is nonselective and moves molecules based on their concentration gradient.

What are passive and active transport?

Passive transport is the movement of molecules across a cell membrane without requiring energy, such as diffusion and osmosis. Active transport, on the other hand, requires energy to move molecules against their concentration gradient, typically using protein pumps or transporters.

What is the difference between active and passive cellular transport?

Active transport requires energy; passive transport does not.

How are active transport and passive transport different from each other?

Active transport requires energy input to move substances across a membrane against their concentration gradient, while passive transport does not require energy as it moves substances along their concentration gradient. Active transport is selective and requires specific transport proteins, while passive transport occurs through simple diffusion or facilitated diffusion.

What types of transport require ATP?

Active transport processes, such as sodium-potassium pumps and protein pumps in cells, require ATP to move molecules across cell membranes against their concentration gradient. Muscle contraction also relies on ATP for movement in muscle cells.
