The process that is able to move materials from low concentration to high concentration is called active transport. Active transport uses energy while diffusion does not use energy.
Energy in the form of ATP is required for active transport (that's what this is).
active transport
it moves materials from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentrationit moves materials of high concentration to areas of low concentration
active transport
Active transport if you are moving particles to increase the concentration. Or Osmosis if the particles transported are those of the solute to effectively reduce the concentration.
Everything moves from cell to cell through the membrane, either through active transport (cell uses energy to move materials from areas of low concentration to areas of high concentration) or diffusion (cells passively transfer materials from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration, which is natural and thus requires no energy)
the direction depends on the concentration of materials, materials moved by diffusion move from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration
