Well, first of all if you were to check it, then there is a possibility your parents and possibly the doctor may question you on the severe injury. This may lead to further suspicion and by trying to hide the truth you may hurt yourself. However, it this irritates you should check a doctor. You may end up hurting your boyfriend, but its a safety matter and that's important!
