If you mean before they become gametes, they undergo first mitosis and then meiosis. After that, they don't divide. They just wait for fertilisation to occur.

The process by which sex cells divide is called what?

Cell division that produces sex cells?

The process in which sex cells divide is called meiosis This is not, however; to be confused with mitosis, which is the division of non sex cells.

Sex cells divide using the process called?

The production of sex cells is called "gametogenesis." This makes sense since a gamete is a reproductive cell and "genesis" means creation or beginning. If the sex cells being produced are sperm the process is called "spermatogenesis" and if the sex cells being produced are eggs it is called "oogenisis."

What is the importance of meiosis in sexual reproduction of flowering plants?

Meiois is the process in which diploid cells divide to become haploid gametes (or sex cells)

When the cells in the male and female parent divide do they form body cells or sex cells?

Sex cells.

How do cells usually divide to make daughter cells?

Usually cells will go through mitosis. However, gametes, or sex cells, go through a process called meiosis.

Process of cell division which results in the production of sex cells?

It is a nucleic acid and is made from building blocks called nucleotides. The process then repeats in what is called the cell cycle. Cell division (NIH image) Mitosis is how somatic--or non-reproductive cells--divide. Somatic cells.

Does meiosis divide sex cells and body cells?

Yes, mitosis produces somatic cells for growth and repair of the organism.

What will happens when a cell divides?

It depends on the type of cell. If it is a tissue cell, then it will divide into two daughter cells through the process of mitosis. If it is a sex cell, a gamete, it will divide into four daughter cells by meiosis.

What is the process that produces haploid sex cells?

The process that produces haploid sex cells is mitosis.

What is process that produces haploid sex cells?
