Outer or inner? The bone between the shoulder and the elbow is the humerus. The two bones in the forearm (between the elbow and the wrist) are the larger, longer bone, the radius, and the smaller bone, the ulna.
The scientific name for the carpals are carpals.
I'd bet it's Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Despite it's reputation, it's not just a yuppie disease, and if you let it go on for months or years with no treatment your hand muscles could atrophy. Since you can't go to the doctor now, get a wrist splint at the pharmacy and wear in on that hand, particularly while sleeping at night. Take Advil ((it cuts down on the internal swelling in the wrist that often causes this problem.
They can be one of two things:-Structures containing a number of nerve cell bodies, typically linked by synapses, and often forming a swelling on a nerve fibre, masses of nerve tissue joined to various nerves and other sensory organs called Cerebral Ganglia.An abnormal benign swelling on a tendon sheath, frequently found on the wrist.
The buttocks are medial to the wrist. The wrist is lateral to the buttocks.

Swelling is very common post-operatively. If swelling persists 2-4 weeks after surgery visit your GP for a check up.
A pop in the wrist may not be anything to worry about. If it is accompanied by pain or swelling you should see a doctor to have this checked.

The mechanism or how your wrist was hurt plays a big part. If you have point tenderness over a specific carpal or wrist bone. If you have swelling,and bruising and loss of or decreased range of motion. All these things are part of an exam and history. You will need an xray to be positive. The signs of a break or sprain are pain, redness, swelling and a decreased range of movement of your hand. If the swelling and pain does not get less over the course of a few hours, it is best to get the wrist x-rayed as certain breaks might not heal well if left alone. Only an x-ray can determine a fracture.
The are a few symptoms of wrist injuries. The symptoms include swelling, pain, heat/warmth of the joint, discolouration, deformity and being unable to move the joint.
Because the area of the wrist through which the median nerve passes is very narrow, any swelling in the area will lead to pressure on the median nerve.
The pulse is checked on the wrist because there is an artery near the surface of the skin that can be easily felt.
I just noticed my left wrist is larger than my right. I, too, am right handed, but this week I was bitten by a cat on my left wrist. After antibiotics the swelling has nearly disappeared, but I fear my wrist will be forever larger than my right.
