proximal - close, or nearer to the point of attachment/orgin.
mid-esophagus - middle - esophagus, Middle esophagus.
The esophagus is
a vertical, hollow,
muscular,
collapsible tube.
In adults it is
approximately 10
inches (25 cm)
long, and about
one inch in
diameter.
The esophagus
consists of three
sections
• The upper 1/3 or Proximal esophagus
o Begins the upper esophageal sphincter (UES)
o This lies approximately at the level of the 6th
cervical vertebra (C6) and extends to 5th
thoracic vertebra (T5)
o The upper portion is also known as the
cervical esophagus.
• Middle esophagus
o Extends from approximately the 5th thoracic
vertebra (T5) to the 10th thoracic vertebra
(T10)
o This section is also known as the thoracic
esophagus.
• Distal esophagus
o Extends from the 10th thoracic vertebra (T10)
to the esophageal-gastric (GE) junction, which
is about at the level of the xiphoid process
o The terminus has a lower esophageal
sphincter also called the cardiac sphincte.
Answer... The lower two thirds of the esophagus is normal, the upper third part of the esophagus is NOT normal.
Proximal tubule
The hand is distal, because your hand is drawing away from your body. Proximal means closer to the body.Example: The elbow is distal to the chest. The elbow is proximal to the hand. The hand is distal to the chest and the elbow.
Proximal vs. distal, is in reference to the Point of attachment to the axial skeleton. So the shoulder is proximal to the wrist, or the wrist is distal to the shoulder. Distal= further away Proximal= closer
The fingernails are distal to the wrist. The wrist is proximal to the fingernails.
Proximal means closer to the origin of the limb or finger. Medial means the inside aspect, closer to the midline. So the proximal medial aspect of the proximal phalanx is the "inside" edge of the first bone of the toe, closer to the beginning of the toe than to the end.
"Midesophagus" is a term that typically refers to the middle portion of the esophagus, which is the muscular tube that connects the throat to the stomach. It is an anatomical reference point used in medical contexts to describe the location of certain conditions or abnormalities within the esophagus.
Proximal means closer to the origin of the limb, so the knee is proximal to the ankle, and the wrist is proximal to the thumb.
Proximal
Proximal, anything closer to midsection in proximal (closer) than distal (distant).

proximal parenting
The olecranon is known as the proximal end of the forearm. The proximal end of the forearm refers to the olecranon.
The term most opposite of proximal is "distal."
proximal
proximal end is that end of bone which away from joint
The hand is distal, because your hand is drawing away from your body. Proximal means closer to the body.Example: The elbow is distal to the chest. The elbow is proximal to the hand. The hand is distal to the chest and the elbow.
