Active transport is the process of moving solutes against their electrochemical gradient. This is essential to maintain the intracellular ionic composition of cells and to import solutes that are at a lower concentration out side the cells and to import soultes that are at a lower concentrion outside the cell than inside. (i) Coupled transporters couple the uphill transport of one solute across the membrane to the downhill transport of another. (ii) ATP-driven pumps couple uphill transport to the hydrolysis of ATP. (iii) Light-driven pumps, which ae found mainly in bacterial cells, couple uphill transport to an input of energy from light.

Your three types of Active Transport is therefore Coupled Transporters, ATP-driven pumps, and Light-driven pumps.

What types of transport require ATP?

The two types of cell trnsport it Passive Transport and Active Transport. Active Transport does require energy to move into and out of the cell. Passive Transport doesn't require energy to move into and out of the cell. Hope I helped!

What is a type of active transport?

There are three types of active transport. They are endocytosis, exocytosis, and sodium potassium pump. Endocytosis is when the cells ingest substances. Exocytosis is the process of releasing contents of the cell to the external environment.

What are the two general types of transport used by cells to transport materials in and out of the cell?

The two general types of transport used by cells are passive transport, which does not require energy and includes processes like diffusion and osmosis, and active transport, which requires energy and involves processes like protein pumps and vesicle transport.

What are the two types of transport across the cell membrane?

active transport and passive transport. active transport requires energy and able to transport molecules from low concentration side to higher concentration side. passive is just like a tube that connects innner side and outer side. it requires no energy but unable to do like active transport does

Explain the difference between passive transport and active transport Give several types of each and explain how they work?

when molecule travels from a higher concentration to a lower concentration through a concentration gradient. It is known as passive transport. Active transport refers to when molecule travels from a region of lower concentration to a region of higher concentration against the concentration gradiet. Transport of protein is an active transport. Fit it in the sentence your way

Are diffusion and osmosis types active transport?

No. (Active xport would be in the opposite direction.)

What are the different types of cell transport?

active transport -transport against concentration gradient that requires chemical energy passive transport- requires no energy at all

What are the types of active transport?

Endocytosis, phagocytosis, pinocytosis, and exocytosis.

What types of cell transport do expend energy?

Active transport processes, such as primary active transport, secondary active transport, and vesicular transport, require the cell to expend energy in the form of ATP. These processes enable the movement of molecules or ions against their concentration gradients or across membranes.
