The vas deferens is the tube that carries the sperm from the testicles to the penis. It is this structure that is cut in a vasectomy, which is one of the more common permanent methods of contraception.

The Vas Deferens transports semen from the epididymis, where sperm is stored and matured, to the seminal vesicle which secreates a fluid high in sugar in to the semen giving the sperm a viable energy source to use when swimming up to the egg in the falpian tube. Past the bulbo-uretheral gland which secreates lubricants in to the semen then finally past the prostate gland which secreates an alkaline fluid in to the semen to combat the acidic vagina then finally down the penis through the urethra and out, as ejaculation.

Hope that helps you :)
