Taking insulin when you are not diabetic can lead to dangerously low blood sugar levels, which can cause symptoms like confusion, dizziness, sweating, and even loss of consciousness. It is important to only take insulin under the guidance of a healthcare professional to avoid serious health risks.
Changing an organism's DNA, through methods like genetic engineering, can lead to beneficial outcomes such as producing crops with higher yields, creating disease-resistant animals, or advancing medical treatments. This can help improve food security, health outcomes, and overall quality of life for both humans and the environment.
Bleeding behind the eye, also known as a vitreous hemorrhage, can be caused by conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, or age-related macular degeneration. It does not typically lead to cancer. Treatment usually involves addressing the underlying cause of the bleeding, and costs can vary depending on the specific treatment required. It is important for your grandfather to consult with an eye specialist for proper evaluation and management.

You could possibly hurt yourself by eating cake when you are boderline diabetic. Diabetes is a serious condition where your body cannot produce insulin to help you digest sugar. Do not eat too much sugar or fatty foods if diabetes is a concern.

Currently there is no form of insulin you can take by swallowing it. The simple reason why is that your stomach acids destroy insulin, so taking it orally would have no effect. This is why diabetics have to inject insulin.Clinical trial studies are underway to test whether Type 1 diabetes can be prevented or delayed by taking oral insulin. In people with Type 1 diabetes, their own immune systems attack the pancreatic cells that produce insulin. The hypothesis is that when insulin is taken orally and digested, it may induce tolerance in the body's own immune system, quieting the immune response.[1][1] NIH, "Study tests oral insulin to prevent type 1 diabetes," NIH News, January 31, 2007 (see link on left sidebar) In addition to the two correct responses above, there is an inhaled form of insulin (Exubera), which became available in the last year. Because it is inhaled and not swallowed, this insulin bypasses the GI tract, and is available immediately for use by the body. UpdateExubra - mentioned above, failed to take a market share so badly (due to cost and dosing difficulties) it was withdrawn from the market in October 2007 (it was launched in the USA in September 2006).
