water is the compound, H2O. a compound is 2 or more different atoms that have combined an example of course is water H2O is 2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.

oxygen is an element which are listed quite nicely on the Periodic Table. an element is all of the same type of atom an example of course is oxygen - O.

minerals are crystals and rocks (crystals are always found in rocks) and example would be granite.... like on your counter top!
