1) leaves with narrow lamina to offer minimum resistance of water.
2) large air cavities with in the tissues to make it bouyont.
3) Xylem is poorly developed and no lignified as water can be absorbed easily from all sides
4) there is no cutical on it's leafs for easy absorbtion

∙ 11y agoHydrilla has adaptive features such as rapid growth rates, extensive branching, and the ability to grow in diverse environmental conditions. It can also reproduce through fragmentation, allowing it to quickly colonize new habitats and outcompete native plant species. Additionally, hydrilla can survive under low light conditions by adjusting its photosynthetic rate to maximize efficiency.

∙ 10y agothe growth of hydrilla enables it to compete effectively for sunlight. It can elongate very rapidly, upto an inch a day..until it nears the water surface, where it gets sunlight.
i) It is a submerged hydrophyte found attached to the substratum by adventitious roots in fresh water ponds.
ii) The stem is soft and slender and bears thin and membranous leaves in whorls of 3-8.It limps when taken out of water showing the absence of any mechanical tissue.
iii) The leaves are arranged in such a way to provide least resistance to the flow of water. They lack cuticle and stomata.
iv) The whole plant is covered over by mucilage. It prevents epiphytic growth and protects the plant against the rotting effect of water.

Mayana leaves contain starch, while hydrilla leaves do not contain starch. Starch is a carbohydrate storage molecule that plants produce through photosynthesis.
the hunt the hydrilla down and now the population of hydrilla is close to extinction
Hydrilla cells typically range in size from 200 to 600 micrometers in length and 14 to 65 micrometers in width. They are elongated and can vary in shape depending on environmental conditions.
Hydrilla leaf cells contain chloroplasts, which are a type of plastid responsible for photosynthesis. Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll pigments that capture light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugars, providing energy for the plant.
Hydrilla is known to have a high abundance of chloroplasts due to its photosynthetic nature. Chloroplasts are the organelles responsible for carrying out photosynthesis in plant cells, producing energy in the form of sugars using sunlight.
It is an aquatic plant which grows deeper in lakes,rivers.etc.
