To answer your question properly, it depends on what you eat and what part of the food group you eat very little. In most cases, if you lay off the fats, it wouldn't affect you too much, although eating just enough is better. Yes, OFCOURSE you will 'starve' if you don't eat, but you will also get weak, dehydrated, and in most cases having too little food will affect your heart, your kidney and artery, your skin and so on.
