Main Components of Blood are-

Plasma- This is a straw colouredsolution of Organic and Inorganic substances. The main constitute is water, which accounts for 92% of Plasma. The organic constitunts include plasma proteins, blood sugar, cholesterol and Urea, while the inorganic substances include gases and various salts.

Erthrocytes-These are also called red blood cells, or red blood corpusles(RBCS). They are continuously produced in Bone marrow, and have lifespanof 120 days. A mature RBC has no nucleus. Most of the cell is filled with haemoglobin, which consists of an Iron containing pigment haem, and a protein called Globin. The pigment gives blood it's red colour.

Leucocyctes-These cells are commonly calledwhite blood cells (WBCS). They are larger than RBCS and are colourless. They have no definite shape. They protect us from infections by releasing Antibodies.

Thrombocyctes-Thrombocytes, also called blood platelets, are minute disc shaped structures without a nucleus. Their main functionis coagulation or clotting of blood.

How many Components of blood are there?

I think there are two main components of blood, namely the blood cells and the blood plasma. Blood itself consists of blood cells suspended in blood plasma, which is mainly water. Blood cells could further be branched into three groups, which are red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes) and platelets (thrombocytes). I also know that there are several types of white blood cells, each performing different functions in the body.
