Kinetic energy effects changes of state because it is when energy that has been held up inside the object (aka potential energy), is finally released.
For example: On a roller coaster, the cart goes up a hill. At the top of the hill, right before it is about to go down another hill, it has potential energy, or stored up energy. Then whe it is going down the hill, all the energy is released and now the energy is in the form of kinetic.
Another example: A marble is attached onto the end of a string. You pull the marble back. While being held back, the marble has potential energy. When you let the marble go, that energy turns into potential energy, because it is in motion.
Defintions:
Potential energy: Energy that is stored up
Kinetic energy: Energy in motion
In soccer, you have a soccer ball. The ball has potential energy. When you kick the ball, the potential becomes kinetic energy and the ball moves. However, your foot has potential energy as well (all matter has potential energy because all matter has the potential to move). When you kick with your foot that potential energy becomes kinetic energy. When the soccer ball is on the ground it actually has no potential energy because potential energy is only associated with height. When the ball is kicked however the kinetic energy from the player is passed on to the ball. That kinetic energy makes the ball move. If the ball is kicked into the air then the kinetic energy is passed on and some of that kinetic energy transforms into potential energy and kinetic.
40 Joules. This would also mean that the ideal included zero mass or elasticity in the "string" of the bow, friction is non-existent, and it is accomplished in a vacuum.
The food energy that can be utilized by the eater of the food is chemical potential energy. In a food fight, when the food is propelled through the air, it temporarily acquires some kinetic energy as well, which has nothing to do with its identity as food, and can't be utilized by eating the food, since it must come to rest before the eating commences. ________ All matter is made up of a combination of kinetic and potential energy. The kinetic energy that comprises your food is all the energy of motion of its molecules. The hotter your food, the faster its molecules are moving and the more kinetic energy they posess. Also, as mentioned above, if you throw your food, it will posess bulk kinetic energy. However, the majority of the energy contained within food is potential energy stored within what you could think of as unhappy chemical bonds. When you eat food, your body invests a little energy to break apart these unhappy bonds and makes new, happier bonds between the food molecules and the oxygen you breathe. When these happy bonds form, a large ammount of energy is released. Your body uses this energy for running around and having food fights.
Matter, by definition, must posess both mass and volume. Energy is in the form of waves, which posess neither mass nor volume.
Philosophically one might think of matter as "frozen" energy, and energy as "dynamic matter." Most energy escapes in the form of electromagnetic radiation. Hence the "c" in the equation above, relating matter and energy. Just a small amount of mass, multiplied by the speed of light squared (which is a LARGE constant) translates into an enormous amount of energy. Matter is not frozen solid, it vibrates, like trapped energy yearning to be free. Free neutron half life is around 12 minutes, after which these decay into proton/electron pairs. The mass difference (neutrons are slightly larger than a proton and electron combined) is imparted to the electron in the form of energy. These high speed electrons are known as "beta" particles. Careful observations of protons in the Super Kamiokande Detector in Japan have not revealed any instance of proton decay. So it is possible this form of matter may be constant, never "thawing" back into energy. The smaller the particle, the larger the wave form associated with it. These waves are known as DeBroglie waves. All matter propagates (moves through space) by wave, and energy is associated with the wave. Note: This energy is different from the vibrational energy mentioned above, which is released (or reduced) via emission of infrared radiation, or long wave electromagnetic radiation known as heat. The less heat atoms or molecules contain, the slower they vibrate.
The two main forms of energy are Kinetic energy and Potential Energy. Kinetic energy is motion energy. Potential energy is energy stored in matter.

Kinetic energy is the energy in a mass of matter that is in motion, the energy of motion. Potential energy (where mass is in a gravity field) can be converted into kinetic energy Chemical energy (of an explosion) can be converted into kinetic energy Electrical energy can be converted into kinetic energy (eg in an electric motor)
Energy can be measured by its effects on matter through various forms such as kinetic energy, potential energy, and thermal energy. These effects can be observed through changes in motion, position, temperature, and more. Energy itself, however, is a fundamental quantity that exists independently of matter.
Its either due to kinetic energy, potential energy, or mass
kinetic energy is the energy of motion potential energy is the energy stored in a body or in a system due to its position
The simple answer here is Kinetic.
it went from having potential to kinetic energy
isn't it like potential energy or kinetic energy? something like that All matter has mass energy. This energy is given by Einstein's formula E = mc2
Flying baseballs, cars. Energy of matter caused its position or its motion. (potential energy an kinetic energy)

The state of matter with the highest potential energy is plasma. Plasma is a high-energy state of matter where the atoms are stripped of their electrons, leading to a high level of kinetic energy and potential energy due to the strong repulsive forces between particles.
