There are 3 main types of muscle.

1. skeletal muscle - this is what everyone think of when we think of muscles, it is what makes us move our joints by flexing and relaxing pairs of muscles.

2. smooth muscle - this is the muscle in side the arterial walls, they can constrict to stop of decrease blood flow to a certain area of the body. Smooth muscle is also used in other places like glands and ducts.

3. cardiac muscle - this muscle is only found in the heart its special because it never gets tired (does not produce CO2 or lactic acid) because electrical currents can travel through it. whch means it can beat millions of times in your life time without needing a rest

How do muscels work together?

Muscels work together when your brain sends signals into what you want to do...such as doing a push up. your muscels are one big system instead of just one muscel per each limb. all the muscels are connected together which that is how muscels work together.....now excuse me im going to use my muscles now to slap my sister silly because she is throwing pillows at me.... i hope this helped :)

How are muscles affected by sports?

muscels are affected by sports because when you play a sport you are strengthening your muscels. When ever you excercise you are ripping your muscles to increase their strenghth (this is where the phrase "your ripped" comes from). When you strengthen your muscels it takes a lot more time for lactic acid to build up. Lactic acid is why you ache the next day after you have worked out, but ripping your muscels adds to the pain. The more tough your muscels are the less lactic acid builds up!!!
