The nasal septum is composed of three main parts:

1. Perpendicular plate of the ethmoidbone- this forms upper part of nasal septum which divides the nasal cavity into vertical right and left halves

2. Vomer - this forms the posterior portion of the nasal septum

3. Cartilage of the septum
