Central & Peripheral
Edit: I don't think the last person read the entire question. Central (CNS) and Peripheral (PNS) are the two major divisions of the nervous system but the question is asking specifically about the central.
Two major division of the central nervous system (structurally) are
White matter and Gray matter.
The two main division of The Nervous System is divided into:Peripheral Nervous SystemCentral Nervous SystemThe Peripheral Nervous System is divided into two major parts:The somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. While The Central Nervous System is divided into two parts: the brain and the spinal cord.
The Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nervous systems are the divisions of the ANS. The sympathetic is where "fight or flight" comes in, and the parasympathetic is what calms us down afterward -- they work to balance each other.
The two major parts of the central nervous system are the brain and the spinal cord. The brain controls our thoughts, actions, and emotions, while the spinal cord is responsible for transmitting messages between the brain and the rest of the body.
Brain and spinal cord compose the central nervous system (CNS).All the nerves that innervate everything outside of your CNS is your peripheral nervous system (PNS).
The nerves and neurons that run through the body outside the brain and spinal cord make up the peripheral nervous system. This system transmits signals between the central nervous system and the rest of the body, allowing for sensory input and motor output. The peripheral nervous system includes sensory and motor neurons that control voluntary and involuntary bodily functions.
The two major divisions of the human nervous system are the central nerves and the peripheral nerves.

No, that statement is incorrect. The two major divisions of the nervous system are the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which connects the CNS to the rest of the body. The endocrine system, while related to bodily regulation, is a separate system that uses hormones for communication and control.
THE TWO DIVISION OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM ARE THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM OR CNS AND PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM OR PNS . Central nervous system consist of the brain and the spinal cord . It receives and sorts out information coming from the environment and from inside the body and determines the appropriate action. Peripheral nervous system is made up of nerves that extend throughout the body . It is through these nerve cells that communicate between the Central nervous system and body tissues take place

False Made up of two major parts, Central nervous system and Peripheral nervous system

The central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system.

do barbiturates stimulate the central nervous system
The Brain & the Spinal Cord are the 2 major components of the central nervous system.
The two main divisions of the nervous system is the Central Nervous System (CNS), and the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). The CNS is made up of the Brain, Brain Stem and the Spinal Cord. The PNS is made up of the Sensory and Motor nerves connecting to the spinal cord (and in some parts the brain). There is also another system called the Endocrine System which can independently control digestive functioning, but that's a bit more advanced and usually isn't taught till you reach University/College. If you want some more reading 'thinkquest' has a good tutorial.
