Homology refers to structures that are similar due to shared ancestry, while analogy refers to structures that are similar due to convergent evolution. Homologous structures have a common evolutionary origin and may have different functions, whereas analogous structures have a different evolutionary origin but serve similar functions. An example of homology is the pentadactyl limb in vertebrates, while an example of analogy is the wings of birds and butterflies.
Answerit is in a plant cell Something that holds grains, like a corn or wheat silo.
An analogy is a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. It helps to illustrate a concept by showing how it is similar to something more familiar or easily understood.
The city analogy for a nuclear membrane is like a security wall around a city. Just as a security wall protects the city by controlling what enters and exits, the nuclear membrane surrounds the nucleus of a cell and regulates the passage of molecules in and out of the nucleus to maintain cellular function and integrity.
A gatekeeper choosing who can enter a nightclub based on their attire and age is an analogy for a selectively permeable membrane. Just like how the gatekeeper only allows certain individuals to enter the club, a selectively permeable membrane regulates what molecules are allowed to pass through based on specific criteria like size, charge, or solubility.

The three criteria used to determine whether a similarity is due to homology or analogy are: 1) similarity in structure, 2) similarity in function, and 3) similarity in evolutionary origin. Homology suggests a shared evolutionary ancestry, while analogy implies similarity due to convergent evolution.
Homology
homology
Homology- Evolved from a common ancestor Analogous- 2 similar structures that evolved differently

A homology is a likeness in structure between separate organisms due to evolutionary events from the same part or part of a remote ancestor. Whereas analogy is a resemblance and/or comparison of some particulars between things otherwise unlike.

...representing something. an analogy is a way of describing something using something else, like a simile.
I don't think there is one. An analogy is a special kind of abstract relationship. An antonym, or opposite, means something at the farthest possible extreme away--something at the opposite end of the continuum. But something either is an analogy or is not (and that may even be a matter of interpretation or opinion). There is no meaning to the idea of being the farthest possible thing from an analogy.
