Here are two; mitosis ends in cell division while meiosis ends with gamete division, and mitosis ends with a chromosome number of 2N while meiosis ends with a chromosome number of 1N - give us the third.

Mitosis produces 2 cells, has 1 division and they are non gametes.

Meiosis produces 4 cells, has 2 divisions and they are gametes.
Mitosis:

  • somatic division
  • occurs in diploid cells
  • 2 daughter cells in 1 div
  • diploid daughter cells

Meiosis:

  • germ cell division
  • occurs in reproductive cells
  • 4 daughter cells in 1 division
  • haploid daughter cells

Meiosis involves 2 rounds of division, Mitosis involves once. Meiosis involves germ cells, Mitosis involves somatic cells. Meiosis results in a haploid cell, Mitosis results in a multiploid cell (in species, it's triploid, tetraploid, etc; in humans it's diploid).

Which does not belong binary fission mitosis meiosis cytokinesis?

Cytokinesis. Prokaryotes divide by binary fission. Eukaryotes divide by mitosis and meiosis. Therefore, those three are processes by which organism divide. Cytokinesis, however, is a stage of cellular division where the cytoplasm is split.

What are three differences between asexual and sexual reproduction?

Which process produces 4 cells with one half the chromosomes as the parent cell?

The process is know as Meiosis II, the second stage in the process of cell division for sexual reproduction.

How many daughter cells are produced by mitosis and meiosis respectively?

Mitosis creates 2 identical diploid daughter cells that are identical to the parent cell.Meiosis produces 4 haploid cells that are genetically unique.

If a cell in a dog undergoes meiosis and another cell undergoes mitosis how many chromosomes will each resulting cell contain?

Meiosis is usually reserved for cells used in sexual reproduction. They have half the number of chromosomes found in the organism's somatic cells. A mosquito has six chromosomes in its somatic cells, and therefore would have three in each gamete formed by meiosis.
