the answer is photoreceptors. search photoreceptors to figure out what they are.
Rods and cones
Cones and rodes cells only.
It's called the blind spot - it can't detect light because there are no light sensitive receptor cells located here.
Specialized cells are those that perform a specific function in the body. They have undergone many changes in order to be best suited to perform that specific function.Specialized cells include:Cardiac cells of the heartNeurons of the brainSarcomeres of the musclesOsteoblasts of the bones
Light bounces off the leaf, enabling the eye to detect its color and shape as light also enters the retina.
Retina contains rods and cones
Cone cells in the retina of the eye detect color. There are three types of cone cells. Two of them detect light of different wavelengths, one medium and the other long. And the third detects the overall intensity of the light source. Your brain uses this information to interpret the combination of those three receptors to give you the sensation that you percieve different colors.
The retina. This consists of layers of cells that detect light and colour and transmit information to the brain via the optic nerve.
The cones, located in the retina, detect color.
rod and cone cells
Yes, they are called rods and cones.
The rods in the retina of the eyes are sensitive to low levels of light and movement. The cones are the ones that are sensitive to color and intensity, so the rods do not see color.

Rods are used for low-light contrasts, unlike cones which detect colour. They are photoreceptive cells found in the retina. Rods function in less intense light than cones, and are involved in peripheral vision.
cones for color, rod are for black and white
There are certain cells in your eye retina that detect colour, called cone cells.
