This could be answered a few ways, but at the most specific, it is the codons that are translated via tRNA which make a protein.
Each codon, represented by 3 nucleotides, "codes" for an amino acid. A string of amino acids make a protein, thus the nucleotides in the codons determines the product.
To get to this point, requires transcription from DNA into mRNA and then mRNA is translated into the amino acids, so you could say that DNA itself determines the protein produced; however, it is actually the codons in the mRNA that are used to make the protein.
The section of DNA that is transcribed is called a gene, so you could also say that it is the gene that determines what is produced.
mRNA
The process of converting amino acids into protein is protein synthesis. It is a type of condensation reaction as water molecules are formed.
Firstly, messenger RNA (mRNA) that takes the message from the DNA to the ribosomes. Secondly ribosomal RNA (rRNA) which helps catalyze the synthesis of the protein when transfer RNA (tRNA) brings a single amino acid to the ribosome for insertion into the growing polypeptide chain.
Rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER), which is covered in ribosomes, is found in abundance in hepatocytes and is responsible for protein synthesis. The reason hepatocytes are rich in RER is because they produce a large amount of proteins, including clotting factors and plasma proteins.
Firt of all a messanger RNA is synthsized by the DNA present in the chromosome template. This process is called transcription. The message for the type of protein to be synthesized is coded in mRNA. This mRNA comes out from nucleus through nuclear pore and travelles through endoplasmic reticulae in the cytoplasm. Reaching at the apporopriate site, the message for protein synthesis is delivered to ribosomes, who in turn assemble the desired amenoacids for protein synthesis and the protein is synthesized as per message given by the DNA.
Ribosomes are composed of RNA and proteins and are within all cells with nuclei.

ribosomes are responsible for protein synthesis in a cell. prokaryotes consists of 70s type of ribosome whereas eukaryotes consists of 80s type of ribosome.
is a type of protein and u need protien to survive
DNA is transcribed to Messenger RNA (mRNA), and protein coding mRNAs form proteins
The DNA code ... it assigns each amino acid in the sequence.
It is synthesis because new things are being produced
both. They are even in prokariyotes. They are essential for protein synthesis
