Uncontrollable diarrhoea occurs in cholera. Typically there is rice water diarrhoea. Soon you find yourself, walking on the odorless stool of the patient, which is spread all over the room. ( Cholera cot could not be found in any surgical shop.) Typically the patient does not complain of the thirst. There is loss of isotonic fluid and that does not induce the desire of thirst. When you see the patient in hot summer climate, then every body feels thirsty. Doctor and patient both have the same requirement of drinking water. You need to give 5 % dextrose solution intravenously to supply water to patient.
