the tree does not have benefit from the orchid.. because the orchids are decoration only. <3
The Makiling Botanical Garden in the Philippines is home to hundreds of types of plants and trees. Some of those plants and trees are medinillas, mussaendas, quiapo, orchids, ferns, palms, and mahogany.
In the wild/ nature some orchids do actually grow on other plants. Orchids are are epiphytes, and have aerial root systems through which they absorb oxygen, water and nutrients; these roots (in most cases) are above ground. Orchards often are found clinging to the sides of trees in tropical and sub-tropical jungles, where they can be seen "growing on other plants". This is in fact a one sided relationship, the orchid using the plant to gain access to light (higher in the forest canopy), the roots only hold onto the bark of the host tree, they do not feed or derive any nutrition from the host plant. There is also a group of "terrestrial" orchids, which have roots which are anchored into the soil (like normal plants).
All trees grow up by and from the roots.Specifically, it is by the roots that trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants take in necessary nutrients. Not all plants have to be anchored in soil. Epiphytic orchids whose roots dangle from tree branches high up in the air may be offered as examples of herbaceous plants that can live without soil. But all trees must have roots growing in soil to survive.
watermelons are a very good example of aerial stems
Angiosperms display a huge variety of life forms including trees, herbs, submerged aquatics, bulbs and epiphytes. The largest plant families are Orchids, Daisies, and beans. There are an estimated 352,000 species of flowering plants or angiosperms.
Terrestrial orchids are orchids that live in the soil of the ground and not in trees

why do orchids live branches or trunks of trees
why do orchids live branches or trunks of trees
Because, to reach the sunlight, orchids get a boost from the forest trees. Orchids will attach themselves and grow on the trunks of the trees. In this way, the orchids move up off the dark forest floor and closer to the sunny canopy
Not all Orchids need to grow on trees, only the epiphytes, terrestiall Orchids grow in the soil.

Orchids grow on tree bark in the tropical forest. Can't elaborate any further sorry
in the ground, they usually dont grow in trees.
