Orgasms don't hurt at all. It's hard to describe, but it starts out (pre-orgasm) like a relaxing massage (picture getting your feet rubbed after a long, hard day) but that good feeling keeps building and building. I don't know about anyone else, but an intense orgams kind of gives me a different, somewhat metalic, taste in my mouth. It could be increased blood flow. I'm not sure. But it's as if the feeling is rising and rising and finally peaks like a pot boiling over and then subsides.

Also, the orgasm, itself, causes a hormone release in the brain which can lead to a pleasant sense of well-being.
