Can your eyes get stuck while crossing them?

No. Just because our mothers used to tell us that this could happen doesn't mean we have to believe everything. Santa Claus isn't real either, but your mother told you he would be down the chimney every winter. If your eyes are already crossed, than you should see an optometrist to find out options for you. But if your eyes normally focus straight ahead, crossing them will not affect that.

If you are nearsighted what is wrong with your eyes?

This can be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery.
