The main functions of Golgi complex is cell secreations or synthesis of substances for e.g. secreations of enzymes present in lysosomes and peroxisomes and also help in temprary storage of proteins synthesized by E.R.

Take part in the synthesis of polysaccharides.

Golgi complex give rise to cell plate and components of secondary cell walls i.e. secreations of cellulose and hemicellulose after cell division in plants.

It also invlved in packaging of materials for eg. protein packaging

Golgi vessels are refered as traffic police of the cell and play a key role in sorting and directing proteins and membrane constituents to their proper places.

It 'packages' proteins before sending them to their destination within the cell. It works in symbiosis with the Ribosomes, which are the "Protein factories", creating DNA and sending it to the Golgi Complex / Body.
