The site for aerobic cellular respiration - where the majority of ATP is produced - is the mitochondria.

However, many organisms (prokaryotes) do not have mitochondria - and it is still possible to produce ATP for the cell's energy needs without them. So mitochondria are not exactly 'required', it just a much less efficient process without them.

The mitochondria produce ATP through aerobic cellular respiration.

What organelle produces ATP?

Atp is produced in a series of steps inside the mitochondria. It is made via the process of glycolysis and the kreb's cycle. That is why the mitochondria is also referred to as the "power-house" of the cell.

Is ATP an organelle?

No, ATP (adenosine-5-triphosphate) is a nucleotide, a molecule used by cells to transport chemical energy. In humans, the mitochondria produce ATP. The mitochondria are among many cellular organelles.

What organelle stores energy for ATP to ADP?

All organelles need ATP in order to move and function, ergo all organelles need to hold ATP. However, if you're referring to the production of ATP, it occurs in mass quantity in the mitochondria.

What organelle is responsible for conserving ATP in aerobic respiration?

In all cells, there are membrane enclosed organelles called Mitochondria, which produce ATP and glucose.

WHERE Is ATP in your body?

ATP is the energy "money" for the cells to produce proteins and other cellular products. It it found in the cell and made in the organelle called the mitochrondria.

What is the function of organelle Mitochondria?

Its is the nuclear plant of cell.it produce energy for the cell in form Of ATP or ADP

What is motochonria?

mitochondria is an organelle in a cell in an organism. its job is to produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which is used for energy

What organelle would be most common in a muscle cell?

Mitochondria - to produce the ATP needed for muscle contraction

Energy for active transport comes from a cell's?

the mitochondria because this organelle helps produce ATP for energy

What organelle is ATP released from?

ATP is released from mitochondrion.
