A fixed joint is a joint between two bones that doesn't move.

A good example of this is in the skull - the skull plates don't move together or against each other, but they are connected or fused.

Fixed joints are also called fused joints for this reason.

The only fixed joint is in the skull where the plates of the skull fuss toghter and are a part for esay birth. they fuss through out childhood and so are a fixed joint in bones.
