∙ 15y agoIt's spelled cystitis, or better known as a bladder infection. It's relatively common in females, less common in males. In females, it's usually caused by taking too may baths. The bacteria from the rectal area infect the urethra, which is short in females. Not really unusual in females. Also, a lot of sex in a short period of time can cause a bladder infection from the local trauma- also known as "honeymoon cystitis." So if you are a female, it's not uncommon, just 3 days of antibiotics usually takes care of it. Dave MD
