a simple, nonflowering, and typically aquatic plant of a large group that includes the seaweeds and many single-celled forms. Algae contain chlorophyll but lack true stems, roots, leaves, and vascular tissue.
Something that eats other plants food or animals
*
They contain several pigments. They are Chlorophyll D,chlorophyll B,fucosanthene, fucoerithrene.
Protozoa eat food to obtain energy and algae use photosynthesis.
most animals that live there are the same color as the alagae that grows on top of the water. they use their body color as a camoflouge to blend in and hide from predators.
The polar region is also called Arctic hence the plants found there are called Arctic plants. One of the plants is the Reindeer Moss which is a delicate plant.
The subkingdom of algae is known as Phycophyta. Algae are photosynthetic organisms that can be found in various aquatic environments, including freshwater, saltwater, and even some damp terrestrial environments. They play a crucial role in the ecosystem as primary producers, providing food and oxygen for other organisms.
Have you heared of alagae dips? Thats's the latest craze in Scandinavia, made from edible algae and apparently full of natural nutrients. The Swedes have just begun exporting algae dip sauces, but I'm not sure how widely this product is already available here.
Plants are called autrotrophs because plants can feed themselves unlike animals and other types of organisms. However, there are some plants that cannot feed themselves. An example is the Venus Flytrap.
Plants produce oxygen by photosynthesis. The Earth's oxygen comes almost entirely from plant life. Of the plants supplying oxygen over haf are alagae in the Earth's oceans. As to why the oxygen level is maintained at about 21%, this is due to feedback loops in the oxygen cycle involving air and water temperaues, carbon dioxide availability, sunlight and ultraviolet light.
The harmful effects of microorganisms are-They cause too many dangerous diseasesThey spoil our food, making it poisonous for humans. E.g.-moldsThey spread pollution in water. E.g.-alagae. Algae stcks to water making it dirty. If too dangerous, they can also kill us.
Yes......at least I think.....I'm trying it out as I speak. I went to petco to get one bottom feeder and left with a bottom feeder and a tiny baby fish named little Fry. We put him in a little fish bowl that gets dirty quickly so we bought a snail. Everything should be fine cause snails eat alagae and stuff not baby fish :-)
All of them are great! If you get a leopard gecko get one that is an adult. Alot of leopard geckos dont't make it through childhood even if they are healthy. They grow to be up to a foot long. I don't know anything about Chinese water dragons, but they grow to be 3 feet. I have a wonder ful bearded dragon myself. His name is Claws. They require alot of tank cleaning, time out of their tank, and all the supplies, plus the lizard, is around $500.(That's what I spent) And remember, alot of people hold their leopard geckos, but that is not healthy for them, it gets them really stressed(they can die from that) a leopard gecko needs excersize, so put it in an inclosed area so it can run around. - erin_animal_lover I've had all 3 types and by far my favorite is the bearded dragon. The leopard geckos are nocturnal (sleep during the day) and not too interesting. The water dragons don't have too much personality and require a lot of cleaning since they need water which grows alagae, etc. The bearded dragons are on the other hand very social and have their own personalities. Bearded dragons actually enjoy human interaction and will climb to the top of their cage when I walk by in hopes that every time I will pick them up.
Is your tank by a window? If so you may want to move it away. High light levels combined with nutrients (nitrates and phosphates) will cause algae, at least in normal freshwater aquariums. The causes for algae in saltwater are identical, but the algaes are of different types. The solution to algae issues is quite simple; reduce the amount of light, and the amount of nutrients in the water, and the algae will not be able to survive. Some algae in an aquarium is normal; in fact, it is impossible not to have algae. There are many different kinds of fish and invertebrates that can help control algae by eating it. In freshwater, I recommend dwarf plecos, otto catfish, snails, and algae eating shrimp. In freshwater, herbivorous fish such as tangs and angelfish can help, but the best control there are various types of snails.
