If memory serves, I believe I read a definition around 1987, by Roger Walsh, M.D., which said something like: a change in one thing creates a systemic change. This was prior to "the Butterfly Effect" becoming a meme.

What is examples of holocoenosis?

Holocoenosis refers to the intricate relationships and interactions among various species within a specific ecological community. An example of holocoenosis can be found in coral reef ecosystems, where corals, algae, fish, and various invertebrates interact, creating a balanced and thriving environment. Another example is a temperate forest, where trees, fungi, birds, mammals, and microorganisms all contribute to nutrient cycling and habitat structure, demonstrating the interconnectedness of the ecosystem. These relationships highlight the importance of biodiversity and the stability of ecological communities.
