What is liponeogenesis?

Liponeogenesis is the process where new fatty acids are synthesized in the body. This occurs in the liver and adipose tissue when the body has an excess of carbohydrates that cannot be used immediately for energy. Liponeogenesis is important for storing energy for later use.
