Your wife has had 2 emergency DNC operations to stop hemmoraging with each birth along with numerous blood transfusions. should you have additional children?

It seems like the history of your wife would tell against it. Let it be her choice, not yours alone to decide. Doctors however will, knowing her previous problems, be able to take precautions. I suggest you two together ask her doctor regarding this matter. regards.

Can a baby die immediately from shaken baby syndrome?

Yes, very easily. Shaking can cause diffuse axonal injury, which is a stretching of the thin, developing axonal nerves in the infant brain. This is identified at autopsy. Shaking incidents that lead to death cause brain hemmoraging and edema (swelling) and retinal hemorrhaging. This is similar to other sudden-acceleration/deceleration type injuries (such as car accidents), but no other condition is truly the same has Shaken Baby Syndrome.

How does the brain die when a person is shot in the brain?

Normally, the round will pass through the tissue, and cause excessive hemmoraging, or bleeding, which will deprive the brain of oxygen, and thereby die. It also depends on the placement, trajectory and caliber of the round. A small .22 cal round can pass through, or even bounce around in the skull, making a nice grey matter puree, and a large .50 cal can completely demolish the cortex, and sever all communication between body and brain. Assuming you are referring to a through and through shot the head, my best guess is hemmorhaging and exsanguination. Btw, I'm not medically trained or anything so dont just take my word for it. Do some research.

What is the name for separation of the placenta?

Also called "Chorioamniotic Seperation", or Placental abruption it is most common in late birth, after 20 weeks. Anything sooner will most likely result in excessive hemmoraging and cause the baby to abort. Late in pregnancy it will require lots of bedrest. Other cases can include only a slight tear and mean severe pain for the mother but no apparent bleeding, still, this should be reported so your doctor can monitor and it does not turn into something more threatening to you and the baby. Threatening to the baby because the placenta is a vital 'organ' to the baby while in gestation and separation can create distress (rapid, abnormal heartbeat, low blood pressure) in your baby which in late pregnancy could require a premature delivery. The best remedy for placenta separation is to closely monitor it with your doctor, and only take the advice of your doctor.

Is it safe to eat a shrimp shell?

No, you should never do this. It's very dangerous. I am an emergency room nurse, and recently treated a patient rushed in to the hospital in an unconscious state. It turned out that there was internal hemmoraging caused by the jagged part of an undigested shrimp tail. While the consistentcy of a shrimp tail may seem to be like that of a human fingernail, the latter is broken down by stomach enzymes, while the shrimp tail is immune to the enzymes. Further, long term consumption of the inedible parts of shellfish have been known to cause irreparable damage to the GI tract. Suprisingly, the New England Journal of Medicine has recently published a study finding that the effects of shrimp tails stated above are exacerbated with the introduction of acids found in the skins of citrus fruits, such as oranges or kiwis. (While a small percentage of the American population partakes in the consumption of the skins of such fruits, it has been found that there is a large overlap with those who eat the tails of shrimp.) Hope that was helpful.
