Best Answer

The best way to look at fish or chicken cells would be to obtain a very thin slice of tissue and mount it on a slide. This can be viewed using an inverted microscope found in most tissue culture laboratories.

A simpler alternative to prepare the sample would be to take a small piece of tissue and grind it in between two glass slides. This can be done with gloved hands and regular microscopic slides. The flattened tissue can be placed under an inverted microscope and the cells can be viewed at either 40X or 100X magnification

Can SEM microscopes view living cells?

I know that electron microscopes kill cells and require chemical fixation but show a 3d image I know there is one type of electron microscope can see living cells

What type of microscope is best for studying DNA?

electron microscopes...According to my course in OK Virtual Highschool.."Hi-tech electron microscopes are used to study very small objects such as viruses. They can also be used to view the smallest of molecules that make up cells such as DNA in the nucleus. Unlike a compound microscope, an electron microscope can produce a three-dimensional image"

Who is Robert hooke what did he do?

he was famous for discovering cellsAnd famous for creating laws about elasticityHe's most famous for creating laws about elasticity. See the link below. And hes famous for discovering the parts of cells.Robert Hooke is known for completing the experiment of using a microscope that magnified 30 times. Based on hims finding it was then created the cell theory that has two basic ideas:1. All organisms are made of one or more cells.2. All new cells come from other cells.Note: When cells reach a certain size it splits in two, it has to make another nucleus and make new copies of organelles in the cytoplasm. This takes up energy and nutrients. When the cell is ready to divide it puckers around the middle and separates into two almost even halves. They have become two almost identical cells. This process is called cell divisionThe literal meaning of organelles is little organs, they do the work of the cell.Robert Hooke was a scientist that was observing a piece of cork that had started cell theory, and he was the inventor of the best microscope of his time. And he called it cells because it looked like the rooms monks would live in.

Why do you cut a very thin slice of specimen to look under microscope?

Based on other people's answers on other sites, the best answer I got was because the generated light source needs to ba able to shine through the specimen. This allows for better observations and to see individual cells.

What type of microscope would be best to use if you wanted to look at the parts inside of a cell?

you could use any regular microscope that has magnification up to 400 but the best type of microscope to use would be an electron microscope if you could afford one

What is the electron microscope used for?

The electron microscope is used to see cells and other miniscule objects that are too small for light microscopes. It shoots electrons to detect the shape of the object viewed under the microscope. It can magnify up to 2 million times, while the best of light microscopes are confined to about 2000 times.

Why is it difficult to view an oak leaf under a microscope?

An optical microscope focuses best on an object having a smooth flat surface. An oak leaf is difficult to focus on when viewed under a microscope because it has an irregular surface.
