Honey bees do not have a 'normal' body temperature.

A honey bee needs an internal body temperature of 35°C to fly. This is also the temperature within the cluster of bees on a brood comb. This temperature needs to be maintained to develop the brood, and it is the optimal temperature for the creation of wax. While flying, a bee's flight muscles generate heat which will maintain its body temperature. The optimal air temperature for foraging is 22 to 25oC, but below about 13oC the bee will lose body heat faster than it can generate it. At high temperatures the bee uses a form of evaporative cooling to get rid of heat through its mouth. Under hot conditions, heat from the thorax is dissipated through the head. The bee regurgitates a droplet of hot internal fluid -- a 'honeycrop droplet' -- which immediately cools the head temperature by up to 10oC. Below about 10oC, bees become immobile due to the cold and above 38oC activity again slows. Honey bees can tolerate temperatures up to 50oC for short periods.

Is butterfly homeothermic ectotherm or poikilothermic ectotherm?

Butterflies are ectothermic organisms, meaning they rely on external sources to regulate their body temperature. They are poikilothermic, which means their body temperature fluctuates with the temperature of their environment.

What is the thorax of a butterfly?

The thorax contains the muscles needed to operate the wings and legs- in short, a butterfly cannot fly if their internal thorax temperature is below 55 to 65 degreesnot a butterfly cannot fly iif their body temperature is not over 86 degrees.the thorax operates the wings

Is a butterfly segmented?

A butterfly belongs to a group called invertebrates with jointed legs (Arthropods) which is further subdivided into five groups, and one of them is Insects so as butterfly is an insect we will take the properties of insects which includes that a butterfly have three body segments, which are named as head then thorax and afterwards the last part abdomen so we conclude that butterflies are segmented. Hope you would like my answer :)

Which factor determines how fast a butterfly is moving?

The size and shape of a butterfly's wings, as well as the surrounding environmental conditions such as wind speed, temperature, and air density, play a significant role in determining how fast a butterfly can move. Additionally, the butterfly's metabolic rate and energy levels can also impact its speed.

How many body parts does a butterfly have?

As with all insects, a butterfly has three parts to its body: a head, an abdomen, and a thorax.

A butterfly cannot fly is it is below what temperature?

Butterflies are unable to fly if they are cold. If the surrounding temperature is below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, butterflies are rendered immobile.

Is a zebra swallowtail butterfly nocturnal?

No. Most species of butterfly are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day, because they need the sunlight to help regulate their body temperature.
