C. Energy is released during cellular respiration, in the form of chemical energy.
ATP (adenosine triphosphate) is synthesized through cellular respiration in the mitochondria of cells when glucose is broken down in the presence of oxygen. This process involves the generation of ATP through the electron transport chain and oxidative phosphorylation.
In the process of respiration OXYGEN is taken in from the atmoshpere and CO2 is released.
During cellular respiration, energy is released from the breakdown of glucose molecules. This process involves a series of biochemical reactions that occur in the mitochondria of cells, ultimately producing ATP, the cell's main energy source.
The type of energy released when glucose is broken down is chemical energy. This energy is stored in the bonds of the glucose molecule and is released when those bonds are broken during cellular respiration to produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate) for cellular functions.
Chemical Energy
The first step of the process is the digestion.
cellular respiration
enthalpy
Chemical energy is stored in the bonds between atoms and molecules within a substance. When these bonds are broken through a chemical reaction, the stored energy is released.
Oxygen
2 pyruvic acid
Chemical energy is the energy stored in a substance due to its chemical composition. This energy is released when chemical reactions occur.
Cellular Respiration !!
Salivary glands and pancreas produce the enzyme amylase. It is released into the mouth from the salivary glands and into the small intestine from the pancreas to help break down carbohydrates into simpler sugars.
Chemical potential energy is the energy stored within a substance due to its chemical composition and the arrangement of its molecules. This energy can be released or absorbed during chemical reactions. It is a form of potential energy that is important in processes like photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and combustion.
Cellular respiration, or aerobic cellular respiration, is exergonic because energy is released from the breakdown of glucose and therefore the products have less energy then the starting substance.
