this Q was awnsered by someone else already and this is what it put and im 90% sure its right-

In paaramecia, two individuals of different mating types come together and form a cytoplasmic bridge between them. This is followed by a complex set of divisions and i that ultimately results in an exchange in genetic material between the conjugants analogous to the sexual reproduction seen in multicellular organisms.

In bacteria, a structure called the sex pilus "joins" the two organisms and allows for an exchange of genetic information.

in conjugation between paramecia, they simply exchange DNA. Bacterium conjugation happens and the bacterium takes the others DNA.

What allows the bacteria to join together to transfer genes?

pili or pilus is what allows for conjugation between bacteria i.e. genetic transfer.

What is the difference between pilus and conjugation?

A capsule is the protective coating in the outside of a bacteria cell, and a n endospore is a type of small spore that forms inside the cell of some bacteria.

Describe the three ways that bacteria can gain genetic diversity?

There are three main forms of horizontal transmission used to spread genes between members of the same or different species: conjugation (bacteria-to-bacteria transfer), transduction (viral-mediated transfer), and transformation (free DNA transfer).

What is the term for the exchange of genetic material between bacteria via contact between individuals?

the word is conjugation

Explain what benefits bacteria obtain from conjugation?

Bacteria only contain one copy of gene per cell. So the chances of the bacteria to survive with a random mutation is little to nothing. Conjugation (the exchange of genetic material between bacteria) allows for the bacteria cell to make this correction to the mutated gene.

What is the difference between conjugation and sexduction?

conjugation is the transfer of genetic material from one bacterium to another by formation of a conjugation tube. Sexduction is the transfer of genetic material between an F+ and F- cell by formation of sex pili.

What is the word for the genetic transfer of material between two bacteria that have direct cell to cell contact?

conjugation

What is the difference between bacteria and living organisms?

No difference. Bacteria are living organisms.

What is the process called when dna is exchanged between two bacteria via cytoplasmic bridges?

The process is called conjugation.

In bacteria genes may be transferred through a pilus which acts like a bridge in a process called?

Conjugation - its when genetic material is transferred between two bacterial cells that are temporarily joined. The transfer is also one-way.

What is the difference between pilus and fimbriea?

They both are noticed in gram negative bacteria only; -Fimbriea are much in number, where as pili are 2 or more -Fimbriea re specialized for attachment of bacteria to its host, and Pili are responsible for seduction(conjugation) and serve as receptors for certain viruses
