∙ 12y agoThe most commonly identified difference is that eukaryotic cells are nucleated, prokaryotic cells are not.
Most eukaryotic cells have only one nucleus, but some have more. Some species of a fungus called slime molds are known to have several thousand nuclei in one cell.
However the more general difference is that eukaryotic cells contain organelles (e.g. mitochondria, chloroplasts, nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus) and prokaryotic cells don't. These are believed to have originated as symbiotic microorganisms that entered the cells of the ancestors of early eukaryotes and took up permanent residence.

∙ 10y agoProkaryotic cells are simpler, smaller, and lack a defined nucleus and membrane-bound organelles, while eukaryotic cells are more complex, larger, and contain a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum. Eukaryotic cells are found in plants, animals, fungi, and protists, while prokaryotic cells are found in bacteria and archaea.

∙ 10y agoThe difference between prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells is that prokaryotic cells do not have membrane- bound organelles. They also do not have an enclosed nucleus with their DNA. Eukaryotic cells however do have membrane bound organelles along with an enclosed nucleus. They are also larger in size then prokaryotes.

∙ 14y agoProkaryotic cells have a cell wall, Eukaryotic cells do not. Eukaryotic cells are much larger an are in fact more complex then Prokaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus bound by a doubled membrane. Prokaryotic cells have no nucleus.

∙ 12y agoProkaryotic cells are primitive cells that lack many organelles. Eukaryotic cells are advanced cells with many different kinds of organelles.
Eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles, while prokaryotic cells lack a nucleus and organelles. Eukaryotic cells are typically larger and more complex than prokaryotic cells, which are simpler in structure.
Eukaryotic cells contain organelles that are enclosed in membranes
Prokaryotic cells lack a membrane-bound nucleus and organelles, while eukaryotic cells have both a nucleus and organelles enclosed in membranes. Prokaryotic cells are generally smaller and simpler in structure compared to eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells are found in plants, animals, fungi, and protists, whereas prokaryotic cells are found in bacteria and archaea.
Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus or membrane-bound organelles, while eukaryotic cells have both. Prokaryotic cells are typically smaller and simpler in structure compared to eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells have linear DNA organized into chromosomes inside the nucleus, while prokaryotic cells have circular DNA located in the nucleoid region.

The main primary difference between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells is that the prokaryotic cells don't contain a nucleus. The eukaryotic cells are also larger than the prokaryotic cells.

Eukaryotic cells have membrane-bound organelles while prokaryotic cells do not.
One major difference is that eukaryotic cells have a nucleus that encloses their genetic material, while prokaryotic cells do not have a distinct nucleus. Eukaryotic cells also typically have membrane-bound organelles, such as mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum, which prokaryotic cells lack.
Prokaryotic cells do not seperate their genetic material within a nucleus. Eukaryotic cells-nucleus does separate genetic material from the rest of the cell.
